Buy Online, Pick Up at Store Launch Video

Partnered with Rite Aid to create a video to help launch a major evolution in their pickup experience: Buy Online, Pickup At Store that now allows customers to go beyond prescriptions to include everyday retail items.

The goal was to create one short, animated video that would both build awareness and simplify the experience for customers. With Rite Aid rolling this capability out chain-wide, the video needed to feel friendly, reassuring, and easy to understand while highlighting how customers can seamlessly order prescriptions and front-end retail items together for curbside or in-store pickup.

The final deliverable focused on clear visual storytelling and approachable motion to guide viewers through the high-level “how it works,” while emphasizing the convenience and flexibility of the new service. The animation and design style was intentionally warm, accessible, and simplified helping translate a complex operational update into something that feels intuitive and customer-first.

Process

The project began by translating Rite Aid’s established brand guidelines into a cohesive 2D vector illustration style, including custom character design tailored for motion. Characters evolved through multiple refinement stages, from early sketches to polished style frames, ensuring the visuals felt both on-brand and approachable. A detailed storyboard was developed early in the process to align on representation, pacing, and narrative clarity, allowing the animation phase to move efficiently into final production.
